Dear XXXXXXXX,

I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for your help to date in my development.

I was a student in your classes this fall.  On the strength of those classes, and also due to the fact that my major at Lakeland has a specific concentration in Database Administration, I was able to obtain my new position as a Database Administrator Professional Apprentice (basically a long term co-op).  Being a former teacher and having no experience in the field prior to this, I feel that I would likely not have even been considered for this position without the existence of the concentration at Lakeland and the information provided by your classes.  Even with my limited experience, I feel knowledgeable enough to perform queries in SQL and I am certain that I will become even more comfortable in the future.

If you ever need me to provide testimonial for the usefulness and efficacy of the program at Lakeland, please let me know, and I am looking forward to taking more classes!  (especially in Oracle related topics… everything here at S-W is Oracle!)

I appreciate your work, and without it (and the help of Career Services) I would not have been able to change careers so effectively and quickly.  So thank you!

Dear Dr. XXXXX,
I wanted to let you know that I feel badly that you and your fellow Lakeland professors have been working without a contract during this week and express my support for your negotiations.  You have been such a help in my Kindergarten classroom on the Fridays you came in and volunteered for the last two years.  A great example of what I think of Lakeland’s employees.  I actually attended Lakeland as a PSEO student for 2 years.  During my time at Lakeland I had many fantastic professors and a truly wonderful college experience.  I found all of the staff to be hard working people who really cared about their students.  Since my time at Lakeland I have attended Cleveland State, Lake Erie, and Kent State furthering my education.  Never have I felt like my professors genuinely cared about my education and learning the material I was being taught as I did when I was at Lakeland.  I really hope that all of you know how much the students at Lakeland appreciate your hard work and dedication to your jobs.  Hopefully you will begin to feel the support of your administration soon and you and your fellow colleagues will be able to do what you do best–teach!  Good luck with the negotiations in the days to come, I hope an agreement is on the horizon.

With Sincere Support,

XXXXXXXX
